Our first winter season day saw us join with the Victorian Masters Association for a series of track walks at the East Burwood Athletics Track. It was a big day with 60 competitors racing in pretty well perfect conditions. The first events on the program were the VMA 5000m championship for women followed by the VMA 5000m championship for men. Numbers were slightly down as some competitors had already left for Hobart where the Australian Masters championships are to be held next weekend. Heather Carr and Mark Donahoo were fastest but performances are ranked relative to age and the standard was indeed high.
